About The ZOI
It started with seven schools, nine interns, and a goal to produce a high quality, White and Yellow Pages style directory that was free to the fraternity and sorority community. The idea was to unite sororities and fraternities into a nationally connected Greek community.
That was in 1996, and while The Greek Telephone Directory has been a successful Company and our goals have ultimately remained the same, it was time to reinvent ourselves. In addition to transitioning our books from being a simple directory to a beautiful and engaging Greek lifestyle guide and directory, building a new dynamic website with networking and user generated functionality, and a whole lot more; we even changed our name! We're now The ZOI.
We chose the name because the word "ZOI" is Greek for "Life", and The ZOI Greek Directory ("The ZOI") is the #1 Greek community and lifestyle provider. Based in Los Angeles, California, we are a national publishing and media that provides:
- An annual, free lifestyle guide and directory for the sorority and fraternity ("Greek") communities at over 70 universities nationwide.
- A dynamic Greek lifestyle website packed with Greek generated content and executive networking functionality.
- A discount card that makes living a little easier and ad buys a little more valuable
- A team of over 200 Greek, on-campus account executive interns and brand ambassadors.
In staying true to our early beginnings, and because we couldn't think of anyone better to represent and inform the Greek lifestyle, content for our website and books are written by and for Greek students. We're not just a company; we're Greek for Life.
