Today, I give you something that has become very valuable to me in these trying times: Bargain Shopping 101.
Yesterday, I ran circles through the Chicago loop area as well as Wicker Park for Part 1 of my shopping extravaganza. I ended the day by hauling my purchases home: two long-sleeved shirts, one long-sleeved wrap top, ballet flats, a blazer, Bed Head hair product, a silk scarf, and a pair of sunglasses...all for $111.76.

Quick and cheap recipes for the inexperienced college kid
First of all, that title was a moutful, wasn't it? Second, I'm a senior and I still don't have an idea on how to cook 99.999% of things because a) there was no kitchen in my dorm my freshman year, and 2) I lived in the sorority house for the last two years where meals were provided. Alone is Good!
I bring you this short story with weary feet and...well, weary everything else too. I spent all day terrorizing Chicagoland with my mad, frenzied shopping...and threw in a tour of a law school for good measure.
Short of having breakfast in a suburb of Chicago with my sweet aunt, I was totally on my own from the moment she dropped me at the train station this morning until she came to get me there at about 9:40 tonight. I decided to navigate the city alone, as I have several times before. How can you do the same and not worry about being by yourself?

Parents and Facebook, so NOT okay.
My Mom has not entered the world of Facebook. I almost wanted to deny her friend request, but my sisters, my brother, and all my cousins accepted her, so I had no choice but to click "approve". I just don't understand what in the world my Mother could want to be doing on Facebook when her only friends are her relatives?? I think there should be an age limit for Facebook, like the people over... [More]
