I LOVE FLAG FOOTBALL!
It is my favorite time of year here at Kappa Alpha Theta. The belts with bright yellow flags, black jerseys and Wednesday nights! FLAG FOOTBALL IS BACK! We opened our season tonight with a great victory. Since its co-Ed our teammates this year are the men of Alpha Gamma Rho. We won 28 to 0 against Phi Mu and Delta Upsilon.Â
I played tennis and cheered in high school, but other than that I have never been the most athletic person. I did, however, grow up with my father, cousins, four uncles and total stud of a mother all of whom played football throughout high school and college. My mom went to Kansas University and won the championship flag football game for Theta back in the day. She beat the tar out of the Pi Phi's and has never forgotten about it. She is kind of a big deal and my inspiration when I take the field. (I sound so intense) I always try really hard on defense because she always told me there is no better feeling than sacking the quarterback! As I found out tonight, she was right. First sack of my college flag football career!Â
Last year I got in every once in awhile, but I think it was out of pity. I feel like this year is my year. I am going to run routes and grab those flags like it is no body's business! Ill be sure to update you on my path to the WNFL, flag style.
