The Mizzou Homecoming Experience

Last week was Mizzou's Homecoming, and despite the minor beat-down we received from Texas (who scheduled that game, anyway? Let's be serious), it was a huge success. Here's documentation of how we celebrated - trust me, it's unlike anything you've ever seen!

FLING

I mentioned last week just how cool this night of skit and dance always is, and this year's show proved to be just as entertaining. Check out this video (above) of the 2009 Production dance, which again, is a group of hand-picked Greeks from all houses who are amazing dancers.

HOUSE DECS

For months, Mizzou Greeks create massive boards of pomping (single pieces of tissue paper individually placed with markers and pencils) to produce backdrops to skits that they put on for the community. These pomp boards are placed around Greek Town, creating an incredible environment for people of all ages to eat funnel cakes and hang out with Mizzou's Greek Life. Check out this video slideshow to see actual footage taken by a local newspaper! (PS, once you're there, click on the picture to start.)

BLOOD DRIVE

One thing we are most proud of is our ability to give back, specifically by means of blood. This year at the Mizzou Homecoming Blood Drive, over 4,700 people donated, which far exceeded the Red Cross' goal of 3,653.

In other words, this year, Mizzou's Homecoming was able to save 14,100 lives. We really couldn't ask for a better outcome.

THE GAME

It was a close one. I mean, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Texas put up a solid fight, and in the end, they came out on top...beating our football team 41-7. (Soild moves, Longhorns. Mizzou, not so much.)

Anyways, hope you all enjoyed the ride, and cheers to you all having the same great experience on your own turf!

Xoxo,
Cassie
