OSCAR PREDICTIONS!

OSCAR PREDICTIONS!

SO EXCITED FOR THIS SUNDAY!

This Sunday the Academy Awards will be airing and let me tell you and I am so ready. This year they have a made a change in that the Best Picture category is expanded to 10 nominees from the usual 5. While I am no expert, I will try and make predictons as to who I think will win:

BEST PICTURE

Avatar

The Blind Side

District 9

An Education

The Hurt Locker*WINNER* (has a lot of critical praise)

Inglourious Basterds

Precious

A Serious Man

Up

Up In the Air

BEST ACTOR

Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart)*WINNER* (lots of websites have said that he will win; he apparently completely loses himself in the role)

George Clooney (Up in the Air) - (This is who I WANT to win, because he is a Kentucky boy, but alas I don't think it will happen)

Colin Firth (A Single Man)

Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker)

Morgan Freeman (Invictus)

BEST ACTRESS

Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) *WINNER* (She did this strong-willed woman justice; plus many think Meryl has won enough, haha)

Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia)

Helen Mirren (The Last Station)

Carey Mulligan (An Education)

Gabourey Sidibe (Precious)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Matt Damon (Invictus)

Woody Harrelson (The Messenger)

Christopher Plummer (The Last Station)

Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)*WINNER* (He won the SAG Award and he is pretty much a surefire winner)

Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones) *wish he would win; I love that book*

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Penelope Cruz (Nine)

Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air)

Mo'Nique (Precious) *WINNER* (She has won every other time)

Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air)

Maggie Gyllenhaal (Crazy Heart)

BEST DIRECTOR

James Cameron (Avatar)

Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) *WINNER* (This one is really up in the air at this point, but I am really pulling for her)

Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds)

Lee Daniels (Precious)

Jason Reitman (Up in the Air)

ANIMATED FEATURE FILM

Coraline

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Up *WINNER* ( Oh I know it will win, not only because it made me cry three times, but it is so funny and endearing)

The Secret of Kells

The Princess and the Frog

There are many other categories but these are the only ones I have any idea at all about, haha. Here's hoping I have a good record and everyone tune in to the Oscars on Sunday!
