Mob Dance

Mob Dance

Last weekend when I was on my way home from the bull fight I witnessed something I didn't expect. I saw a ton of people in the new park area in front of my apartment building and they seemed to just be standing around. I was curious as to what was going on and had nothing better to do so I decided to walk over and check it out. Within seconds of my arrival, I heard some music begin over the loudspeakers. Then just as quickly as it had started, it stopped. I looked around the crowd and wondered what was going on. Suddenly, the same music started up again......And not just any music--Michael Jackson's "Beat It." hahahah I couldn't help, but to tap my foot to the beat. There were so many people pulling out cameras so I instinctively did the same. Being towards the back of the crowd made it had for me to see, but then I realized what was happening. It was a MOB DANCE. In Spain! I managed to get a video of it, but I was behind a few other people doing the same. It was so fun and I was excited to have witnessed it. Gah, Spain is just so fun. There's never a dull moment here. Seriously.

The small mob dance reminded me of a much larger dance that was performed in Liverpool Street Station. No, I wasn't in Liverpool to witness that one, but one of my journalism professors did show it in class once upon a time. I thought it was absolutely amazing and always wanted to witness one after that. Little did I know my wish would be granted so soon. The event in Liverpool was part of a "Life's For Sharing" message from Verizon. I think it is the coolest thing ever. It's so spontaneous and just makes me want to get up and dance. If you'd like to do the same, I'm attaching the link. (So feel free to enjoy it in the comfort of your own home...or apartment...or library...or wherever you may be!)
