Summer Internships

Landing your first on-site internship can be a scary feeling. I just recently got a summer internship. It’s an anticipating feeling. I am already looking forward to summer just to get started. My friends and I have been talking about our upcoming summer internships and all seem to share mixed emotions. On one hand, we are all very excited. This is our first real “grown-up” thing we are participating in. Our previous summers have included jobs like waitresses and lifeguards. We are now going to be working in our field of choice as interns. At the same time, nerves start to strike. What if we don’t live up to their expectations? What if we make a huge mistake? Excitement is the main emotion that we all feel though. After three hard years of work, we are finally starting to do a job related to our majors. In a little over a year, we will hopefully be getting jobs and moving on from college. It’s a scary thought to think about, but I know we’re all ready and will face it head on.
